Unilabs establishes flagship radiology centre in Lausanne following acquisition of CID

Lausanne, 26 September 2025 – Unilabs has completed the acquisition of a majority stake in the Centre d’Imagerie Diagnostique (CID), a leading outpatient radiology institute in Lausanne. CID’s founder, Dr Pierre Neveceral, remains a shareholder and continues to lead the institute.

Through this acquisition, Unilabs has brought together CID with its existing Lausanne radiology institute, IIMC, creating one of the most advanced diagnostic imaging hubs in the region. The combination strengthens the local radiology offering and enables closer collaboration with hospitals and specialist practices, improving access to high-quality diagnostic services for patients and referring physicians.

As part of the integration, significant investments are being made in next-generation imaging technology. CID has pre-ordered a Siemens Naeotom Alpha CT scanner – one of only two privately owned in Switzerland – and has upgraded its high-end 3-Tesla MRI scanners. The flagship radiology center now operates two MRI and two CT scanners, offering an unrivalled level of service in Lausanne.

The IIMC site will close in the coming months, with its licenses, operations, and key staff transferring to CID. This transition is being carefully managed to ensure continuity of care and a seamless experience for patients and referring physicians.

This acquisition builds on Unilabs’ long-term commitment to radiology in Switzerland. In 2022, Unilabs acquired a majority stake in RIMED, expanding its presence in German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino. With CID, Unilabs further strengthens its network in French-speaking Switzerland and takes another step towards delivering integrated, nationwide diagnostic excellence.
